Canada's largest Sitka spruce tree (Picea sitchensis), San Juan River, British Columbia. This tree is 333 cubic meters by volume and a 11.6 metre circumference base. This is the second largest Sitka spruce in the world after the Queets Spruce in Olympic National Park, Washington.
Giant Bigleaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum) draped in mosses. The bark is rich in calcium and moisture adding to the wet rainforest plant community.
